CBS broadcaster Gary Danielson was expecting Florida coach Dan Mullen to start with a “statement play” after the Gators defense forced a three-and-out to open the game. Danielson was off one play as far as UF providing offensive fireworks.
After a run to Lamcial Perine went nowhere, Florida QB Kyle Traks found WR Freddie Swain, who sometimes gets lost in the shuffle in a deep Gators receiving corps, on a simple slant. Swain was open and showed off some speed taking it 64 yards to the house.
