Florida has taken its lumps on the recruiting trail recently; however, the Gators are trying to make up for it this weekend.
The Gators have a packed and talented house in Gainesville on official visits, and so far, two prospects have pulled the trigger.
Earlier tonight, in-state OLB Nick Smith committed to Florida, one of the bigger targets on the board from the Sunshine State and a commit at a position of need.
News got better in the evening, as four-star cornerback Brad Stewart pulled the trigger. Stewart is a massive get for Jim McElwain, and he hails from LSU’s backyard in New Orleans, Louisiana. Â He tweeted out the news.

Stewart is the No. 20 overall cornerback in the class of 2017, and he’s rated as the country’s No. 153 overall player, according to 247Sports Composite Rankings.
He can play the run, and he can cover. Stewart can also play multiple positions in the secondary, making him a valuable piece to this class’ puzzle.
Stewart became the Gators’ 16 commitment for this cycle.
