As if the brutal offensive showing wasn’t bad enough for Tennessee in the 15-9 loss to South Carolina, the Vols found a way to lose twice on Saturday following the decommitment of four-star running back Lyn-J Dixon.

Not long after the clock hit double zeros in Neyland Stadium, Dixon tweeted out his recruitment was “open to all schools” with the new early signing period quickly approaching. Dixon received a scholarship offer from Clemson soon after he initially committed to Tennessee.

Rated as a four-star running back, 247Sports lists Dixon as the No. 6 all-purpose back in the nation for the 2018 recruiting cycle.

Here’s his Twitter post announcing the news:

If Tennessee continues to slide on the field, it’s hard not to imagine this being the first of many elite prospects to back off their pledge to the school and Butch Jones’ program.
