Football Friday Free For All: Deflated balls and other fun

It’s been a strange week covering the sport of football.
The main topic as the Super Bowl approaches is the topic of deflated footballs, and it has spawned an entire string of goofy headlines.
Even DrudgeReport.com, primarily a political news site, has gotten in on the fun.
A recent headline on the site of “Bad Balls” was accompanied by some awkward photo of Tom Brady and Bill Belichick. Other variations such as “Brady’s Balls” were common as well.
Even Bill Walton brought it up while calling a Stanford-Arizona basketball game:
Does it matter in an actual game? Our friend Danny Kanell says it indeed does:
If u don't think deflating balls by lb or two makes a diff u don't know what u are talking about. Makes significant diff to pass/kick game

While most of us are probably tired of the deflated balls scandal, one man is likely happy that it is hogging the airwaves… ESPN recruiting analyst Gerry Hamilton executed one of the best (worst?) copy and paste fails ever on the internet this week:

Too many questions to ask with regards to how this happened, but the visual of multitasking between high school football player highlight videos and, well, other videos comes to mind.
The post-Ray Rice world is on red alert for anything related to domestic violence, so when Alabama linebacker Ryan Anderson was arrested for domestic violence, most assumed the worst. While Anderson did get into an argument with his girl, the “violence” that occurred was Anderson kicking an automobile… after the female supposedly keyed his car. So, while an incident occurred, I guess, nobody was harmed… just some vehicles. Good news right?
Not everything that happens on Twitter is a negative. Kudos to former Alabama player Ha Ha Clinton-Dix with some advice for the five-star running back that is heading to Alabama:
@DHx34 lil bro be careful what you say on social media it can come back and hunt you but be ready for a great time and hard work with Nick.

In other news…
Who knew that the Iron Bowl was most fierce during women’s basketball?
Even the world of recruiting can’t escape the meme phenomenon.
A couple Ohio State players are still living in the moment after their national championship victory by rubbing the victory in the faces of all three Heisman candidates including Amari Cooper.
Have a nice weekend! No football? What are we going to do?
