One of the most prized recruits of the 2025 recruiting class has now reportedly decided to enter the transfer portal after one season.

Quincy Porter, who signed with Ryan Day’s fifth-ranked recruiting class at Ohio State, is set enter the portal, according to On3’s Pete Nakos and Hayes Fawcett. Porter will have four years of eligibility remaining.

Porter, a New Jersey product, was in high demand during his high school years. He was rated a Top 25 recruit and ranked as the country’s No. 5 recruit in the class of 2025, according to 247Sports’ Composite. After official visits to Michigan, Ohio State, Oklahoma, and Penn State, he ultimately committed to and signed with the Buckeyes.

In 2025, Porter made four catches for 59 yards. His first career catch came against Minnesota in a 42-3 Buckeyes win. He then made a pair of receptions against Wisconsin and another against UCLA.

However, after a single season in Columbus, Porter appears bound for the portal. If he ultimately does so, he will become the 16th Ohio State player to enter the portal during this cycle.

Meanwhile, 11 players have committed to the Buckeyes thus far. Ohio State is looking to bounce back from a disappointing College Football Playoff run in 2025 as it fell to Miami in the Cotton Bowl quarterfinal.
