The Alliance of American Football was fun while it lasted, but the first-year league flamed out in spectacular fashion after only a few weeks of action.

Fortunately, players from the now-defunct league can sign with NFL squads, and on Monday, a former Alabama player landed a deal with the Carolina Panthers.

As you can see here, the Panthers announced that they’d agreed to a one-year deal with OT Brandon Greene.

Greene played for the Birmingham Iron, a team that had some mixed success in the short AAF run, led by another fellow ex-Alabama star — RB Trent Richardson.

Greene also played some tight end in college, and but was used mostly as a lineman. Greene spent the 2017 season with the Chicago Bears’ practice squad, making it to the active roster for the final two games.
