Former Alabama defensive back Patrick Surtain II and the Denver Broncos had a big day on Sunday against the Las Vegas Raiders, winning by a score of 34-18.
Quarterback Bo Nix had a big day with 209 passing yards and 3 total touchdowns, but it was Surtain who was the star of the day. It started early, with the Raiders looking to build on a 10-3 lead. However, the former Alabama star intercepted a pass in the end zone and took it all the way for a 100-yard touchdown.
He also made his presence felt in the second half, as he intercepted Aidan O’Connell on another drive.

For Surtain, these were the first 2 interceptions of the year, as opposing quarterbacks don’t throw at him a lot. He had only 1 interception last season. The touchdown was the 2nd interception he has taken back in his career, with the other one being in his rookie season in 2021.
This also goes down as Surtain’s 2nd career game with 2 interceptions. Remarkably, the other instance (from the 2021 season) also included a pick-6 from Surtain in win over the Los Angeles Chargers.
The Broncos are starting to make some noise in the NFL, as they are now 3-2 and have won 3 consecutive games.
