Smith has bounced around the league this year. He was waived by the Dallas Cowboys on May 5 and claimed by the Seattle Seahawks the next day. Smith’s stay in Seattle was brief, as he was waived on July 26. Smith was with the Denver Broncos from Aug. 3 to Oct. 26, when he was released. The San Francisco 49ers signed Smith on Nov. 11 and promoted him to the active roster on Dec. 11 before waiving him Monday.
Smith went undrafted in 2019. He initially signed with the Jacksonville Jaguars. After playing for the Houston Roughnecks in the rebooted XFL’s abbreviated 2020 season, he returned to the NFL with the Cowboys.
Smith has played in 7 NFL games with the Cowboys (6) and 49ers (1), recording 3 total tackles.
