Former Alabama DT Quinnen Williams is making an early mark on the proceedings during Week 16’s edition of “Thursday Night Football”.

Both the New York Jets and Jacksonville Jaguars are looking to push toward an AFC playoff spot at MetLife Stadium on Thursday. The Jets, who entered at 7-7, are looking to course-correct after having lost their last 3, and a 4th straight defeat could put them even closer to elimination. Meanwhile, the 6-8 Jaguars have won 2 in a row and can clinch the AFC South by winning their remaining 3 games, including Thursday’s at the Meadowlands.

And the Jets took an early 3-0 lead thanks to a key defensive play by Williams. With the Jags facing a 3rd-and-6 at their own 29 just over a minute into the contest, the 4th-year pro broke through and got to Trevor Lawrence, forcing the former Clemson star to fumble the football. New York recovered and immediately found itself in tremendous field position:

It was Williams’ team-leading 12th sack of the season. Although the Jets ultimately had to settle for 3 points, they’ll hope to ride his latest defensive highlight to their 1st win in several weeks.

The game can currently be seen on Prime Video.
