Former Alabama guard JD Davison was the best player on the court in the Boston Celtics Summer League matchup against the Memphis Grizzlies Thursday afternoon.

Davison scored a game-high 28 points with 10 rebounds and 5 assists, though the Celtics tabbed him as having scored 30 in the final score post:

On top of that, Davison also made all 6 of his free throws on the day, totaled 3 steals and made 4-of-6 3-pointers attempted.

Davison has always been capable of a night like this. He had scored a combined 20 points heading into Thursday’s matchup against the Grizzlies.

The 6-foot-3, 195-pound point guard only had 1 20-point game in college for the Crimson Tide, dropping 20 against Georgia in early December. He averaged 4.3 assists per game, and did not have a game over 10 rebounds his entire freshman season.
