Dallas Turner was the victim in a bank fraud scheme, according to a report.

Police records reviewed by the Minneapolis Star Tribune indicate Turner lost $240,000 in the scam. Sgt. Rich Evans told the outlet that police are investigating “several suspects” and said they are “moving forward toward charges being filed.”

Here are details of the scam via an affidavit obtained by the Minneapolis Star Tribune:

Turner and his attorney contacted police in April to report that Turner received a call on Feb. 19 “from an individual impersonating a JP Morgan Chase banker. The caller claimed someone was attempting to impersonate [Turner] at a Chase Bank branch in Arizona and presented two copies of ID to execute a wire transfer.”

The caller directed Turner to immediately transfer his money to two separate business accounts in an effort to thwart the theft attempt.

According to Evans, so far only about $2,500 of Turner’s $240,000 has been recovered.

Turner is preparing to play in his second NFL season out of Alabama. Last year with the Vikings, Turner registered 20 tackles, 5 quarterback hits, 3 sacks and 1 interception.

As the 17th overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, Turner signed a contract with the Vikings that was worth more than $15 million in guaranteed money. Including his signing bonus, Turner earned more than $9 million during his rookie season.
