Former Alabama LB Eryk Anders continues to move up the MMA ranks. On Thursday, it was announced that he will be making his UFC debut later this month.
Anders will fight Rafael Natal on short notice, July 22 in Long Island, N.Y. at the Nassau Coliseum. Natal (21-8-1) has 16 UFC fights to his name, but has lost his last two fights. According to Newsday, the previous two opponents scheduled to fight Natal, Alessio Di Chirico and Tim Williams (not the former Alabama pass-rusher), both had to bow out due to injuries. Natal-Anders is expected to be a televised prelim on UFC on FOX 25, which is headlined by Chris Weidman vs. Kelvin Gastelum.
Anders is 8-0 so far as an MMA fighter, with a Bellator first-round knockout on his resume and is coming off a June 23 win in the Legacy Fighting Alliance’s middleweight championship in Houston.
