Former Alabama LB Shaun Dion Hamilton is one of the many ex-Alabama stars who now plays for the Washington Redskins.
On Tuesday, he gave back to the community he grew up in near Montgomery, Alabama, making a donation to the local Boys and Girls Club.
As you can see in the video below, Hamilton donated a check for $1,500 to the organization, which he hopes will help inspire the kids to do great things:
"THANK YOU SHAUN DION!"
@Redskins LB @iam_sdh20 gave the Boys & Girls Club of the River Region a $1500 check today for their 'Summer Program.' He hopes to inspire the kids and he challenges other MGM stars like @5mackwilson1 and @__RUGGS to give back in the future. #RollTide pic.twitter.com/il0ddLOs72— Maria Martin (@Ria_Martin) July 9, 2019
He also challenged some of the other former and current Alabama players from the Montgomery area — like Mack Wilson and Henry Ruggs III — to give back when they have the means to do so.
Hamilton seems poised to have a bigger role for the Washington defense this fall. He had 27 tackles and 1.5 sacks in 16 games last season.
