Former Alabama players break record for most points scored in single NFL season
Alabama broke an extremely-impressive record during the 2024-25 NFL season.
All former Crimson Tide players in the NFL combined to score 862 points this past season, which is a new all-time record for any program during a single season, the school says.
Here’s the official announcement:
As you can see from the graphic, Alabama is claiming Jalen Hurts for the purpose of this record despite Hurts finishing out his collegiate career at Oklahoma. That decision may be controversial, but it appears the Crimson Tide would have this record even without his 14 rushing touchdowns during the 2024 regular season.
Even without Hurts, Alabama players combined to score 778 points this season. That shatters the previous record of 699, which was accomplished by ex-Florida State players back in 2016.
Oklahoma produced the 2nd-most points of any college program during the 2024 NFL season with 539. That figure ranks 5th all-time, per Radar360.
Former Alabama running back Jahmyr Gibbs led the way with 120 points scored in 2024. Kicker Will Reichard was 2nd on the list amongst Tide players with 110. Derrick Henry, who just wrapped up 9th NFL season, wasn’t far behind with 108 points. He tied his career high with 18 total touchdowns in 2024.
Of course, former Alabama coach Nick Saban played a huge role in making this record possible. Players from the Kalen DeBoer era will be able to begin contributing as early as next season. Quarterback Jalen Milroe is the most notable skill player entering this year’s draft, which is set to begin on April 24 in Green Bay.
