Former Alabama QB Bryce Young hasn’t gotten off to the start that he or anyone in Carolina had hoped for when the Panthers drafted him with the No. 1 pick in the 2023 NFL Draft. The Panthers benched him in Week 3, and he has played only twice at the end of games since then.

With the Panthers deciding to go with Andy Dalton at the quarterback position, this has started obvious speculation on whether or not Carolina would trade Young.

Coach Dave Canales has continued to say that the team is not interested in trading Young, but that doesn’t mean it won’t happen.

If the Panthers do decide to put Young on the market, The Athletic’s Dianna Russini said there are NFL GM’s and coaching staffs ‘licking their chops’ to get the former Alabama star.

“I am keeping an eye on Bryce Young,” Russini said on the Scoop City podcast. “I know teams called the Panthers when they benched him to see if they would possibly be open to trading. I think there are a lot of coaches and GMs licking their chops, going, ‘Hmm, maybe we can do something with him.’ The Panthers weren’t the only team that had Bryce Young as No. 1 in terms of talent.”

The past 2 NFL seasons have seen guys like Baker Mayfield and Sam Darnold resurrect their careers in a new place, and Russini thinks Young could be that type of player.
