Former Alabama QB Andrew Zow has become a mainstay in the Alabama prep ranks the past seven years, spending time at both Calera and Montevallo high schools.
Now, he’s on to Bessemer City, where he’ll coach the Purple Tigers, becoming their fourth head coach in the past four seasons.
Zow has put together a record of 29-47 the last seven years, making three-straight playoff appearances from 2015-17:

Zow was previously at Calera/Montevallo over the last 7 years, going 29-47. However, he went to the playoffs three years in a row (2015-17) with a 3-3 playoff record, winning 4A coach of the year in 2015.

Per AL.com, Bessemer City superintendent Keith Stewart praised Zow’s body of work in a release about the hire:
“Our students deserve the very best,” Stewart said. “I have a lot of respect for the hard work, dedication and professionalism Andrew Zow has displayed throughout his career.”
Zow played for the Crimson Tide from 1998 to 2001, throwing for 5,983 yards, 35 touchdowns and 32 interceptions.
