Tua Tagovailoa is sidelined from the Miami Dolphins’ Week 17 game as he is in concussion protocol. The former Alabama quarterback hopes that his season is not over.
NFL insider Jay Glazer of FOX shared a Tagovailoa update on Sunday. While a Week 18 return is not being discussed at this time, Tagovailoa has his sights set on returning for the playoffs, assuming the Dolphins earn a postseason berth.
“Tua does plan to play again this year, if they make the playoffs,” Glazer said. “He would like to play again this year if they make the playoffs.”
There are concerns much more serious than Tagovailoa’s football availability with his multiple concussions. Glazer shared that after the latest concussion, Tagovailoa did not remember certain plays from his most recent game.
“On Monday, when he was in film with (Dolphins coach) Mike McDaniel, Mike McDaniel started asking him, ‘Why are you making some of these decisions and some of these plays?’ and he could not remember some of these plays,” Glazer shared. “They got very concerned and sent him to the medical department to get further evaluation.”
