Rashaan Evans’ Week 1 punch is going to cost him.

Tom Pelissero of NFL Media reported this weekend that the NFL has fined Evans $10,500 for unnecessary roughness. The former Alabama linebacker was tossed in the first quarter of the Tennessee Titans’ 16-14 win over the Denver Broncos for punching Denver tight end Jake Butt.

The early ejection meant Evans recorded only one tackle over the course of his 13 snaps played against the Broncos. Last week, Evans was back in action for the Titans defense, playing on 84 percent of the team’s defensive snaps. In a 33-30 Tennessee win over the Jacksonville Jaguars, Evans made 7 total tackles, including 6 solo.

Evans and the Titans are at Minnesota on Sunday. The game is scheduled for a 1 p.m. ET kickoff, airing on CBS.
