Former Alabama stars dominate PFF’s ranking of top 50 players in NFL
Alabama is well-represented in a recent NFL player ranking by Pro Football Focus.
PFF has released its ranking of the top 50 players in the NFL ahead of the 2025 season. More than 10 percent of the list entered the NFL out of Alabama as 6 players are former members of the Crimson Tide. Oklahoma (5) was the only other college program to have more than 3 representatives on the list.
LSU, Texas A&M, Ohio State, Iowa, Penn State, BYU and Michigan are the only teams to put multiple players on the ranking.
Here’s how each of Alabama’s representatives on the list were ranked:
- No. 8: Derrick Henry, running back
- No. 27: Patrick Surtain Jr., cornerback
- No. 38: Xavier McKinney, safety
- No. 44: Quinnen Williams, defensive tackle
- No. 46: Jahmyr Gibbs, running back
- No. 49: Josh Jacobs, running back
Remarkably, Alabama is responsible for producing 3 of the 5 running backs who made the top 50. The only exceptions are Saquon Barkley (Penn State) and Bijan Robinson (Texas).
All players listed above played for Nick Saban, but Alabama seems to be well on its way to keeping its NFL pipeline going under Kalen DeBoer. Jihaad Campbell and Tyler Booker became the latest Alabama first-round NFL Draft picks earlier this offseason.
