Former Alabama wide receiver Kobe Prentice spent 3 seasons with the Crimson Tide before transferring to Baylor.
Baylor’s opponent on Friday, Auburn, is obviously very familiar to Prentice, having faced the Tigers in the Iron Bowl for the first part of his college career. And while he didn’t record a touchdown in any of those games, it didn’t take long for him to make a scoring grab as he took on the Tigers in his first game in a Bears uniform.
With just under 3 and a half minutes to play in the second quarter, the Bears faced 4th-and-9 from the Auburn 33 and elected to go for it. Baylor quarterback Sawyer Robertson then uncorked a ball over the middle of the field and connected with a wide-open Prentice for the Bears’ first touchdown of the season.
Here’s the video from FOX:
Prentice, a former 4-star recruit and top 100 player, was an in-state recruit for Nick Saban in the 2022 cycle. As a true freshman in 2022, he made 31 catches for 337 yards and 2 touchdowns. His yardage and receptions dropped, though, over the next two seasons as he was unable to build on a strong first year in Tuscaloosa. After just 11 catches in 2024, Prentice entered the transfer portal, landing at Baylor.
