Benson arrived in Tuscaloosa for the 2023 season as the top JUCO transfer. He had a standout career at Hutchinson Community College in his home state of Kansas.

At UA, Benson played in all 14 games of the 2023 season. He recorded 13 receptions for 162 yards and 1 touchdown.

Benson began his college career as an NJCAA All-American, recording 43 catches for 1,229 yards and 11 touchdowns. He added 923 receiving yards in his sophomore season, breaking the Hutchinson record for career receiving yards with 2,152.

Mike Norvell has used the transfer portal effectively at Florida State, as the Seminoles have won 23 games over the past two seasons with one of college football’s most experienced rosters. We’ll see if Benson if FSU’s next portal success story.
