Jeff Long may be getting closer to landing on his feet following his firing at Arkansas last fall.

The longtime college administrator was let go by the school after 10 years in Fayetteville. During his tenure at the school, the Razorbacks hired Bret Bielema and Bobby Petrino.

Long also has experience as an administrator at Pitt, Oklahoma, Virginia Tech and, Michigan among other programs. Long was also the first chairman of the College Football Playoff selection committee.

According to college football insider Brett McMurphy, Long is a potential candidate to fill the opening AD position at Kansas. That move would bring the Jayhawks someone with the necessary credentials to succeed in the role but it appears Long will have some competition to beat in order to win the job.
