At least one person sees Saturday’s game as a defining moment for the Arkansas football program.

Former Razorbacks QB Clint Stoerner made an appearance on Sports Talk with Bo Mattingly Thursday, and he believes the game this weekend could determine which direction the team heads in.

Stoerner played with the Hogs from 1996-99 and finished his career with 7,422 yards passing and 57 TDs.

It certainly has been a rough year under head coach Bret Bielema. The Razorbacks are still looking for their first SEC win of the season, and one area of concern that Stoerner sees is in the leadership department.

Sports Talk shared Stoerner’s comments:

“This is a make-or-break game for Arkansas,” said Stoerner. “This is a game where the program is going to go one way or the other.”

On the lack of leadership on the team:

“When adversity hits, there’s always an alpha that steps up & says this isn’t going to happen,” Stoerner said. “Arkansas doesn’t have that.”

Bielema is certainly on the hot seat, and it may be too late for him to save his job. The Razorbacks have looked bad for much of this season and have been without starting QB Austin Allen over the past couple of weeks.

Kickoff against Ole Miss is set for 12 pm EST on the SEC Network.
