Former Auburn defensive back Donovan Kaufman has found a home for his final season of college football.

Kaufman announced Monday that he has committed to play for NC State.

It is Kaufman’s second transfer as he enters Year 5 of his college career. From the New Orleans area, Kaufman was a 247Sports Composite 3-star prospect in the 2020 recruiting class. He picked up 20 scholarship offers, signing with Vanderbilt over Ole Miss, Florida State, Colorado, Memphis and others.

Kaufman played in just two games of Vanderbilt’s 2020 season. He transferred to Auburn for the 2021 campaign.

Kaufman was a steady contributor in the secondary over his three seasons on The Plains. He racked up 110 tackles for the Tigers, adding 5 passes defended, including 2 interceptions.

NC State is coming off a 9-4 showing in 2023. Dave Doeren’s team finished the regular season on a 5-game winning streak, but fell short of double-digit victories, losing the Pop-Tarts Bowl to Kansas State.

Wolfpack fans will get to see Kaufman in action on April 6 when NC State holds its spring game.
