Earlier this offseason, Auburn DL Jay Hardy entered the NCAA transfer portal. Now, it appears he has found a new school to play for in 2021 and beyond.

And, interestingly, he’ll team up with a former SEC head coach in Hugh Freeze.

That’s right, as you can see below, Hardy announced via Instagram on Monday night that he would head to Liberty to join the Flames’ program:

Hardy appeared in 1 game as a true freshman in 2020 — the Citrus Bowl loss to Northwestern.

Coming out of high school in Chattanooga, Hardy was a 4-star prospect. He was the No. 101 player in the nation, the No. 13 defensive tackle in 2020 class and the No. 3 overall recruit from the state of Tennessee, per the 247Sports composite rankings.
