A familiar face will be returning to the Plains this fall as it was announced Friday that former Auburn running back Ronnie Brown has landed a job as a sideline reporter for the Auburn Sports Network.

The former Tiger running back helped form one of the great backfields of all time at Auburn from 2000-04, lining up alongside fellow running backs Cadillac Williams and Brandon Jacobs – for a short time anyway before Jacobs transferred out of Auburn, rounded out by quarterback Jason Campbell.

Upon the official release of the news, Brown sent out this tweet:

Auburn’s new sideline reporter also prepared a statement following the news:

“I am always excited to come back to the Plains, but I’m elated to be the new sideline reporter following in Quentin’s footsteps,” Brown said in the release, via Auburn Undercover. “It’s a great opportunity that I’m looking forward to, and I’m approaching it in the same manner as I did when I was an athlete.”

After leaving Auburn following his senior season, Brown was the second overall selection in the 2005 NFL Draft by the Miami Dolphins and played 11 seasons in the league.
