Dameyune Craig has had a long history in the SEC, but his next stop will be in the ACC as a quality control assistant at Florida State, according to an official statement published on Monday.
Craig, who played quarterback at Auburn, returned to his alma mater in 2013, where he served as the receivers coach, then co-offensive coordinator for three years.
He then jumped to LSU, where he coached the receivers in 2o16 under both head coach Les Miles and then interim head coach Ed Orgeron, following Miles’ firing. Orgeron dismissed Craig, and “re-assigned” running backs coach Jabbar Juluke – which ultimately led to his departure from the program, this offseason because “they didn’t jibe with Orgeron’s vision of the program going forward” according to Scott Rabalais of the Advocate.
Craig now joins Florida State, and coach Jimbo Fisher, where he served from 2010-2012 as the quarterbacks coach. Notably, Craig recruited Heisman-wining quarterback Jamies Winston to the program.
