When the Rams selected former Auburn OL Greg Robinson with the No. 2 overall pick in the 2014 NFL Draft, they thought they were getting a guy who could anchor their offensive line for years to come.

That wasn’t the case, though, as Robinson struggled in his three years with the Rams and was shipped to the Detroit Lions for the 2017 season.

After spending the 2018 season with the Cleveland Browns, he has finally started finding success. And, on Monday, the Browns announced they had inked Robinson to a new contract:

Robinson joined the Browns last season and appeared in all 16 games, starting the final eight at left tackle. Cleveland surrendered just five sacks during the second half of the season — the lowest of any team in the league — compared to 33 in the first half. Robinson protected for QB Baker Mayfield, who set an NFL rookie record with 27 touchdown passes, and opened holes for RB Nick Chubb, who set a Browns rookie record with 996 rushing yards.

Financial details of Robinson’s contract haven’t been released, but clearly Cleveland was impressed with his work in 2018.

Robinson has been considered one of the biggest draft busts of the past decade, but he could start to turn things around.
