Former Auburn quarterback Cam Newton sets NFL record for career rushing TDs

Former Auburn and current Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton became the first quarterback in NFL history to record over 50 career rushing touchdowns on Sunday.
Newton eclipsed the mark in the fourth quarter of the Panthers’ game in Foxborough, Mass., against the New England Patriots, according to the NFL Media Research Group.
As of this article’s publish time, Newton had completed 21 of 26 pass attempts with 311 yards and three touchdowns through the air, as well. That was in addition to his five carries for 33 yards and the rushing TD. The Panthers were leading 30-23.
