Kerryon Johnson’s time with the Philadelphia Eagles has come to an end.

Following a knee injuru, the team released the 4th-year running back after an injury settlement. He was originally waived on Aug. 17 but was unclaimed, leading to him being placed on the IR. Now, with his release, he is free to sign with any team once recovered, reports ESPN’s Field Yates.

A former 2nd-round pick out of Auburn by the Detroit Lions, Johnson recorded 641 yards and 3 touchdowns as a rookie in 2018 while making 32 catches for 213 yards and 1 score. However, a sprained knee led to his season being cut short.

After knee surgery saw him play in just 8 games in 2019, his playing time diminished in 2020, leading the Lions to eventually waive him on May 6 before the Eagles claimed him the next day.

Johnson was the SEC Player of the Year in 2017, rushing for 1,391 yards and 18 touchdowns while bringing in 2 touchdowns through the air. His 32 career rushing touchdowns ranked 4th in program history.
