Former Auburn wide receiver Ryan Davis is headed to the XFL.
Davis was among the names listed when the league announced a total of 22 players who had signed a Letter of Intent on Wednesday. He’ll play out the next part of his professional football career with the Vegas Vipers.
The 5-10, 190-pound Davis should help bring a stronger level of solidity to the wideout position, an area that has been of concern for the Vipers in the past.
The team will hope Davis can be an asset for them the same way he was for the Auburn Tigers at the college level, where he reeled in 178 receptions for 1,555 yards and 7 touchdowns.
Davis began his professional career when he was originally signed by the New England Patriots as an undrafted free agent in 2019, also making stops in with the Tampa Bay Vipers with the 2020 rendition of the XFL and the Ottawa Redblacks (CFL).
