The NFL coaching carousel is shifting into overdrive with teams still in the hunt for a new head coach, and around the league, zeroing in on their preferred candidates heading into conference championship Sunday.

A couple of the more favorable jobs have already been filled with the Atlanta Falcons bringing on Kevin Stefanski and the New York Giants bringing on Super Bowl winner John Harbaugh, and it looks like another big opening is on the verge of being filled as well.

According to ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter, the Miami Dolphins are reportedly in agreement with former Green Bay defensive coordinator and Boston College head coach Jeff Hafley to become the new head man in South Beach.

A long-time coach with over 20 years of experience at both the NFL and NCAA levels, Hafley most recently served as the defensive coordinator for the Green Bay Packers from 2024-2025, where he led one of the league’s best units.

Prior to that, Hafley was the head coach of the Boston College Eagles from 2020 to 2023, leading the program to a 22-26 combined record and 3 Bowl Game appearances across his 4 seasons with the program.

Now, it looks like Hafley is in line to return to the role of head coach once again, only this time he’ll be leading one of the biggest brands in all of professional football.
