Former Florida CB Vernon Hargreaves III remembers the last time he squared off against ex-Alabama WR Amari Cooper.
Cooper torched the Gator standout for 201 yards and three touchdowns in the game, which left an impression on the Tampa Bay first-round draft pick, according to AL.com:
“That’s the first time I played against somebody that was better than me, that I felt like was significantly better than me, and he knows that,” Hargreaves said. “For me, I was young. I was a sophomore, and at that point he was already playing like he was in the NFL. So covering him, after the game I kind of sat down and thought, ‘Wow, he really got me better in a way,’ if that makes sense.”
Hargreaves will get a chance to show how much he’s improved on Sunday, when his Tampa Bay Buccaneers take on Cooper’s Oakland Raiders.
The Bucs and Raiders will square off at 1 p.m. Eastern time on Sunday. The game can be seen on CBS.
