Former Florida QB Chris Leak becomes high school head coach

Former Florida quarterback Chris Leak will be the next head coach of Edgewater High School in Orlando, Fla.

Leak was an assistant during the Will Muschamp era, serving as a graduate assistant in 2013 before becoming the Gators’ receivers coach in 2014. He spent this past season with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers staff in a community relations role.

Now, according to FootballScoop.com, he’s been named head coach at Edgewater High in Orlando.

Leak played at Florida from 2003-06, going out in style by leading the Gators to a 41-14 beatdown of the Buckeyes to claim the school’s second national championship in his final season.
