The 2020 season of the new XFL got off to a miserable start for the Tampa Bay Vipers. Tampa Bay entered Week 4 with an 0-3 record, but it’s all Vipers Sunday night down in Raymond James Stadium.

Tampa Bay has a 25-0 lead on the DC Defenders in the second half. Former Florida tight end DeAndre Goolsby contributed a touchdown catch, the first of his professional career, in the first half.

Goolsby, who joined UF in 2014 out of Derby, Kansas, played four seasons at Florida. His best showing came as a junior, in 2016, when he caught 38 passes for 342 yards and 3 touchdowns. He finished his Gator career with 68 catches for 724 yards and five touchdowns.

After leaving UF, Goolsby was unable to make it to an NFL active roster. He initially signed as an undrafted free agent with the Detroit Lions, but was cut early in the offseason. Goolsby then signed with the Jacksonville Jaguars on July 31, 2018. Ahead of Week 1 of the 2018 season, the Jaguars placed Goolsby on injured reserve on Sept. 2. Jacksonville waived Goolsby on Nov. 29, 2018 and cut him the following day.

The game is in the fourth quarter and currently airing on ESPN2.
