Former South Carolina All-Americans Alshon Jeffery and Jadeveon Clowney are expected to play, but will be limited during opening weekend in the NFL.
Jeffery, Chicago’s No. 1 option at wide receiver, is recovering from a lingering calf issue that forced him to miss all of training camp.
The Bears already lost wideout and first-round pick Kevin White for the season to a shin injury and need Jeffery’s services on Sunday in Green Bay.
#Bears WR Alshon Jeffery is progressing well from his calf injury. The hope is he’ll play Sunday vs GB & he’s making strides to get there.

Jeffery emerged as one of the league’s best young talents last fall, leading the Bears with 85 receptions for 1,133 yards and 10 touchdowns.
The Texans are putting snap restrictions on Clowney, who is ahead of schedule and is nearing 100 percent following two knee injuries last season that sidelined him for 12 games.
The No. 1 pick in the 2014 draft has practiced since Aug. 17 without pain in his surgically-repaired knee.
“I like where Clowney’s at coming back from that injury,” Houston coach Bill O’Brien said, according to The Houston Chronicle. “We’ve got to put a pitch count on him. I’m not sure what that is yet.”
As a precationary measure, Clowney did not appear in a preseason game.
