Former Florida DT Dominique Easley played well for the New England Patriots when he was healthy last season, but apparently he wasn’t healthy enough.

Tom Curran of Comcast Sports New England first reported that the Patriots released Easley on Wednesday.

Easley was a first-round pick by the Patriots not long ago in 2014 but only played in 22 out of a possible 37 games over the last two seasons. Easley had torn his ACL in both knees while at Florida, then also had a knee injury at the end of his rookie season.

Last season, Easley missed seven games while dealing with a torn quadriceps.

Despite his limitations, Easley was ranked as the No. 12 defensive tackle in the league, according to Pro Football Focus.
