Former Georgia cornerback Damian Swann will reportedly be put on the injured reserve list by the New Orleans Saints, according to Nick Underhill of the New Orleans Advocate.

Saints head coach Sean Payton confirmed Tuesday that Swann visited Dr. William Meyers in Philadelphia for an examination earlier this week. Meyers is a specialist in core muscle injuries, however, there is no confirmation on what the exact injury is.

Sources told Adam Caplan of ESPN that Swann will not need surgery.

Swann recorded 180 tackles, including 10.0 tackles for loss, eight interceptions, 21 pass breakups, six forced fumbles and three fumble recoveries during his four seasons at Georgia. As a senior, he was named second team All-SEC and was voted one of the team’s permanent defensive captains.
