Former Georgia defensive lineman Jalen Carter has been nothing short of impressive at the start of his NFL career, something that was well-reflected by his PFF NFL rookie grade, which was the highest among all of the other prospects in his class playing out their first year.

“Simply put, it is borderline unfair that Carter fell to Philadelphia in the draft,” Dalton Wasserman of Pro Football Focus wrote. “He was the best player on the field against New England, and his 92.1 overall grade ranked second among all defensive tackles on Sunday. Carter racked up eight pressures, including one sack, repeatedly forcing Mac Jones to get rid of the football early. He is already a nightmare for opposing offensive lines.”

To this point in the season, Carter has registered 1 solo tackle and 1 sack. With the NFL year obviously still young, it is highly expected that these numbers on the stat line will grow immensely and that Carter will make a significant impact as a boost to the Eagles defensive line as it ensues.

Carter and the team play out their next game when Philadelphia meets with the Minnesota Vikings at 8:15 p.m. ET on Thursday evening in their own house.
