Former Georgia defensive lineman Nazir Stackhouse was among the hopefuls looking to be named to an NFL roster after being signed as an undrafted free agent. On Tuesday, his dream came true.
Stackhouse has been named to the Green Bay Packers’ 53-man roster for the 2025 season, the team announced on Tuesday. He joins a defensive line that includes former Georgia teammates Warren Brinson, a fellow rookie and a 6th-round pick, and Devonte Wyatt, a 4th-year veteran.
The former 4-star recruit signed with the Bulldogs out of the class of 2020 and was a part of the program’s 2021 and 2022 national championship-winning teams. He was an All-SEC 2nd-team pick in 2022 and 2023. In his 5-year career with the Dawgs, Stackhouse totaled 96 tackles and 9 tackles for a loss as one of the top nose tackles in the country.
Stackhouse went undrafted in 2025 and ultimately signed with the Packers as a UDFA. He impressed enough in training camp to ultimately get himself on the team’s active roster to start the season.
Stackhouse’s signing also continues a long-running streak for Green Bay. The legendary franchise has signed at least 1 UDFA to its initial active roster for the past 21 seasons.
