Former Georgia defensive lineman Bill Stanfill died Thursday at age 69 in hospice care, according to The Macon Telegraph.

Stanfill played defensive tackle at Georgia from 1966-68, earned consensus All-American honors and won the Outland Trophy as college football’s top interior lineman. He went on to be inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 1998.

Though many Bulldogs fans will remember him from his time in Athens, he was also a standout player for arguably the greatest NFL team of all time. Stanfill was selected 11th overall by the Maimi Dolphins in the 1969 NFL draft and played eight seasons. He won two Super Bowl titles in South Beach, including with the 1972 Dolphins team that finished 17-0 — the only NFL team to finish an entire season with a perfect record.

Stanfill endured a bad fall recently and complications arose from it after receiving medical treatment. His health had reportedly been in decline.
