Former Georgia QB Jacob Eason is reportedly getting another NFL opportunity.
The ex-Georgia, ex-Washington standout played in 2020 and 2021 for the Indianapolis Colts. Prior to the 2022 season, he was waived by the Seattle Seahawks.
He has appeared in 1 game this NFL season, completing 3 of his 5 passes for 59 yards and an interception for the Carolina Panthers in a loss to the Los Angeles Rams.
Now, he is reportedly being signed to the San Francisco 49ers’ practice squad, according to NFL insider Field Yates:
The 49ers have signed QB Jacob Eason and WR Dazz Newsome to their practice squad.
They placed WR Tajae Sharpe on the practice squad injured list and released QB Kurt Benkert.

Eason was a fourth-round pick in the 2020 NFL Draft by the Colts. Now, he’ll try to catch on with a team that has had somewhat suspect quarterback play under starter Jimmy Garoppolo.
We’ll see what the future holds for the former Bulldog.
