Former Georgia RB D’Andre Swift recognized for standout performance in Week 2

D’Andre Swift saw an increased workload in Week 2 and it resulted in the Georgia product capturing his first NFC Offensive Player of the Week.
The 24-year-old running back rushed for a career-high 175 yards along with a touchdown on 28 carries in the Philadelphia Eagles’ 34-28 victory against the Minnesota Vikings.

The 5-foot-9 Swift darted for 6.3 yards per carry against the Vikings. This comes after he finished with just 3 yards on 1 carry in his Eagles debut against the New England Patriots in Week 1.
The Philadelphia native was selected by the Detroit Lions with the No. 35 overall selection in the 2020 NFL Draft. During 3 seasons with the Lions, Swift rushed for 1,680 yards and 18 touchdowns while catching 156 receptions for 1,198 yards and 7 scores.
While at Georgia, Swift was a First-team (2019) and Second-team (2018) selection in the SEC. Swift tallied 2,885 yards and 20 touchdowns on the ground as well as recording 73 receptions for 666 yards and 5 scores.
The Eagles traded a 2025 4th round selection and a swap of 2023 7th round picks to the Lions in exchange for Swift.
Next up for Swift and the Eagles is a Monday Night Football matchup at the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Swift’s alma mater Georgia hosts UAB on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. EST with coverage on ESPN2.
