In his NFL debut, former Georgia running back D’Andre Swift scored the first touchdown of his pro career.
A short-yardage score doesn’t make for the most exciting highlight clip, but it’s still the first touchdown for the former Bulldog. Swift being able to deliver in short-yardage situations is good news for Lions fans and fantasy owners.
Swift was selected in the second round with the No. 35 overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft. There was some uncertainty surrounding the Detroit Lions backfield with Kerryon Johnson returning and the addition of Adrian Peterson. It looks like Swift is making a strong case for carries in a crowded backfield.
