Nick Chubb’s reputation in the NFL continues to grow, and now the Cleveland Browns are set to expand his role in the offense.

The former Georgia running back had a solid rookie season in 2018 with 996 yards, a Browns rookie record, on a 5.2 yards-per-carry average with eight touchdowns. Chubb also had 20 catches for 149 yards and two touchdowns. He may be most remembered in 2018 for a 92-yard touchdown against Atlanta, which was the longest run in Browns history and the second-longest by a rookie in NFL history. He also recorded the second-most scrimmage yards by a Browns rookie in a season with 1,145.

But many expect him to have a greater impact this season, including Cleveland running backs coach Stump Mitchell, who called him arguably the MVP of training camp, according to Cleveland.com.

โ€œI think heโ€™s going to be special like he was last year,” Mitchell said. โ€œHeโ€™ll be used a little more in the passing game than he was last year. Nick just continues to improve on the skillset that he has, and I think he has a fantastic skillset.”

At Georgia, Chubb in 2017 had four catches for 30 yards, and in 2016, had five catches for 86 yards and a TD.

The Browns took Chubb in the second round of the 2018 NFL Draft.
