Lonnie Johnson Jr. did not last long with the Kansas City Chiefs after the former Kentucky defensive back was acquired in a trade with the Houston Texans this offseason.
Johnson Jr., who was a second-round pick of the Texans in the 2019 NFL Draft, was waived by the Chiefs on Monday. Johnson appeared in 44 games the past 3 seasons, and made 172 total tackles. He recorded 3 interceptions and 13 pass breakups during that time.
He shared a couple of personal messages on social media in the last 24 hours that likely had something to do with the release.
