ESPN NBA insider Adrian Wojnarowski tweeted that Murray has signed a 4-year, $208 million extension, according to his agents Jeff Schwartz and Mike George. That means that Murray will be in Denver for at least 5 more years, with a guaranteed amount of $244 million.
Before getting to the NBA, Murray played his one collegiate basketball season at Kentucky. During that year, he averaged 20.0 points and 5.2 rebounds. The Wildcats made it to the round of 32 that year before losing to Indiana. He was then drafted by the Denver Nuggets with the 7th pick in the 2016 NBA Draft.
He had to deal with some injury issues early in his career, but he has emerged to be one of the best NBA’s late-game shot-makers. Last season, he hit multiple last-second shots to knock off the Los Angeles Lakers, and he was a huge part of the Nuggets’ championship just 2 years ago.
With Murray and Nikola Jokic, the Nuggets have one of the very best duos in the NBA, and figure to be a championship contender for some time.
