Ole Miss received a big boost to its wide receiver corps on Tuesday courtesy of the transfer portal.
Jordan Watkins, who spent 2 seasons with Louisville, has committed to Lane Kiffin and the Rebels. Watkins announced the news on his Twitter account.
Watkins played in 7 games as a true freshman in 2020, making 8 catches for 57 yards and recording a rushing touchdown. He found himself a steady contributor in 2021 as he brought in 35 catches for 531 yards and 4 touchdowns. Now, as he is set to be a part of Kiffin’s high-flying offense in Oxford, he could be poised to continue his positive development.
Watkins, of course, faced the Rebels in Atlanta to open the season, making 4 grabs for 35 yards in a losing cause.
The Louisville native was a 3-star recruit in the class of 2020 and was ranked as the No. 9 player in the state of Kentucky by 247Sports.
