Former LSU safety Jamal Adams remains the only drafted SEC player who has yet to sign with his NFL team.

Earlier today, there were two: Adams and former Auburn DL Montravious Adams, but Adams ended up signing, leaving Adams the lone ranger from this year’s NFL Draft from the SEC.

Adams was drafted by the New York Jets with the No. 6 overall pick. At No. 6, Adams is expected to get a signing bonus worth $14,258,062.00 and a contract value of $22,162,335.00.

Including Adams, there are a total of eight players who have yet to sign: Mitchell Trubisky (No. 2 overall), Solomon Thomas (No. 3 overall), Cory Davis (No. 5 overall), Patrick Mahomes (No. 10 overall), Gareon Conley (No. 24 overall), safety Jabrill Peppers (No. 25 overall) and Obi Melifonwu (No. 56).

Adams turned heads during the Jets’ voluntary workouts, despite not signing. There’s nothing to be worried about, as it seems that Adams’ agent and the Jets aren’t having any disputes. Any issues are usually settled before training camp starts.

Out of all of the first-round picks, my money would be on Adams to be a perennial Pro Bowler.
