The Cleveland Browns announced Wednesday afternoon that they have placed safety Grant Delpit on injured reserve.
This is rough timing for the Browns. Delpit, who has been one of Cleveland’s top defenders this season, recently signed an extension with the Browns for 3-years and $36 million that includes over $23 million in guarantees.
Delpit suffered a groin injury and according to reports, could be able to return for the playoffs if an injury-riddled Cleveland team is able to hold a spot.
We have placed S Grant Delpit on injured reserve.
S Duron Harmon was also signed to the active roster from the practice squad, and T Joey Fisher was signed to the practice squad.

Delpit was having an incredible season, to put it mildly. Through 13 games of action Delpit has totaled 80 tackles with 7 tackles for loss, 1.5 sacks, 3 pass deflections and 1 interception.
The Browns sit at 7-5 on the season and face off against Chicago this Sunday at 1 p.m. ET.
